Apache Tomcat default environment

By default our VPS hosting plans comes with proxy feature implemented which redirects all web requests from port 80 to Tomcat's one 8080 but this is customizable and you can set Tomcat to work on port 80 and directly receive web requests without Apache and it's proxy module needed. This saves some RAM so you can use it for your web application.
If Apache web server is still needed, you can have proxy redirection active or even mod_jk Apache module as well. The Apache mod_jk enables running both Java and HTTP/PHP contents from same destination so you can mix up both technologies at the same time. The module mod_jk is not enabled by default but we can enable and configure it for you per request, without additional fees.

Java heap features

Each VPS plan has it's RAM features set by default. You can use almost entire RAM for Java heap and we'll configure it for you if needed. You should not use entire RAM as VPS will stop as there's no swap ram with virtualization technology we use for VPS accounts. If more RAM needed, not a problem you can always apply for RAM feature upgrade.
